Also, I am the new phys ed teacher. Can anybody help me remember some good games? We have two balls but not really and flat field space. So far I am thinking some stretching, maybe a day of push ups/lunges/sit ups, and maybe capture the flag. The period is only forty minutes long.
Kickball of course!

ReplyDeleteWhat was that game called... Octopus? You split them into two teams, one team is the Octopuses and then sit down and swing their arms in a circle, the others try to run for one side to the other without getting touched, if you are touched, you become and Octopus. Whoever is last standing wins. We used to play it a lot!
ReplyDeleteDuck Duck Goose? Sit in a circle. One person on the outside. Taps each person in the circle on the head at a time naming each person "duck... duck... duck..." When you feel like it you name one "Goose". You then have to run round the circle (being chased by the "goose") and sit down in their position before they catch you.
ReplyDeleteI suppose you could make it "mbwa mbwa paka" (dog dog cat) if you want to do it in Swahilli!
How about 'What time is it Mister Wolf?'
ReplyDeleteOr tag, or blob (tag but once you catch the other person you link up and run around as a blob)?
Or...whats it called...soccer baseball?
Gym class was such a long time ago!
I miss you Lisa, hope you're having the time of your life!!!
Wow Lise, they sure are keeping you busy! Are the balls the bouncy kind? If so, play dodgeball!
ReplyDeleteSteal the bacon!!! Put the ball in the middle, divide the girls into two teams, each girl gets a number, and then when you call out a number, the two girls on either side with that number race to the middle and have to try to steal the ball without getting touched by the other one. :)
ReplyDeleteOh hey, how about some yoga?
